We collect and use your personal information for various purposes, described below:

i) Benchmark-Administered Assessments:

We collect data through assessments that we administer using third-party equipment and software. This includes your “VO2 Max” maximal exercise test results, your “Body Composition DEXA Scan” dual x-ray absorptiometry results and images, and the results of physical testing, which may include grip strength measurement, timed balance tests, vertical jump tests and other tests of strength, stability, or physical function.

ii) Demographics & Physical Measurements:

We directly measure and/or ask you to share your height, weight, potentially waist circumference, and other similar measurements. We collect your date of birth and your biological sex, which inform many of your assessment results, as well as the normative data we provide for context.

iii) Self-Administered Data Collection:

Through self-administered assessment and monitoring, you will collect data using third-party equipment and software, and share that data with us. This includes blood pressure measurements, your glucose readings and notes you record while using a continuous glucose monitor, and data collected while using a wearable device (including heart rate data, sleep data, exercise data, journal entries, and other health and wellness information that you record or capture through the device and software).

As outlined in our Terms of Use, you will be required to agree to, and abide by, the Terms of Use (and/or “Terms of Service” and/or “License Agreement”) and Privacy Policy, and related agreements of each third-party equipment and software provider we use. You will share your data with us either by authorizing us to access it via the provider’s platform, or in certain cases where no suitable alternative is available, sending the data to us via email.

iv) Blood Testing:

If you are participating in blood testing, you will have your blood taken by our lab partner, and Benchmark will have access to your results directly via the partner’s platform.

v) Health History

We ask you to share information about your current health status and health history (including conditions, treatments, diagnoses, family health history, prescriptions, supplementation, and related information), and aspects of your health and wellness routines. We use this information to help evaluate the suitability of certain assessments, to inform the interpretation of your results, and to personalize the recommendations we offer. We collect this information via a one-on-one video conference with you.

We store your personal information in secure databases hosted by third-party technology providers. These providers store data in Canada as well as in the U.S., and other foreign jurisdictions, with extensive security safeguards.

In order to use our services, you consent to the use of electronic communications including email to share personal information, including personal health information. We limit the use of email for sharing personal health information, but require it when no suitable alternative (such as a password-protected software platform) is available.
